Hello, my name Joe Gerzin, Owner of Gerzin’s Wood Wizards Custom Home Builders. I was born and raised in Ely, Minnesota, at a very early age I began to learn cabinet making from the high school shop teacher. After graduating from Ely High School in 1977, I attended Vermilion Community College in Ely for two years to learn Engineering Graphics and Architecture.
In 1979 I began working for a local contractor to perfect my craft with on the job training. I attended and continue to attend many continuing education classes. I began my own business in 1988.
We have built many fine homes in the Ely area and on the Iron Range. Gerzin’s Wood Wizards has been involved in many commercial renovations including Voyageur Lumber, The Santa Store, Dairy Queen, Short Stop, Cliff Wold Outfitters, Subway, Ely Wear, Ely Sportswear, Wells Fargo Bank, Ely City Hall and the Ely Catholic Church.
